Pamela T. Pentz is a retired FEI level rider and trainer with over 50 years experience in the dressage world. She has earned her USDF Bronze and Silver Medals as well as the scores for her Gold Medal. 40 of those years she spent as a USEF Dressage judge and 10 years as an FEI Para-dressage judge. Pam acquired Derby Farms in Woodinville, Washington in 1980. The farm is a little over 19 miles east of Seattle, WA.

Derby Farms is a 10 acre farm that traces its roots back to the homestead days of Washington Territory which is pre 1889! Pam embraced the breeding of dressage horses early on in her dressage career when she acquired her first stallion, a lovely grey Hanoverian, Weisswein (1978-2002). She showed the stallion thru FEI as well as began to develop her instincts for horse breeding. In 2004 she acquired thru a partnership the wonderful “R” line Oldenburg stallion Rodioso Rohdiamant/FuriosoII) (1996-2022). This magical horse was shown thru Grand Prix by Pam as well as used for breeding. Rodioso continues to breed via frozen semen, producing mostly Premium foals for the German Oldenburg Verband as well as 3 Elite foals to date.

The main emphasis at Derby Farms now is the breeding of outstanding dressage horses for the amateur market. The temperament and movement produced by Rodioso coupled with our fine mares results in friendly, sound and athletic horses for the dressage market. Training and showing of these fine youngsters is done by several young, talented professionals who work on site at Derby Farms under the watchful eye of Pam.
